about

The railways were the key to the success and failure of settlements. Cutting their way through the ranges and bridging valleys, they were the lifeblood of the people. John Henry Cahill, as a teamster, worked on supplying the materials for the building of the Pichi Richi railway which would connect Quorn with Port Augusta and Adelaide. The line has again been reopened and now provides a wonderful historical journey with steam engines.
